Brighton Park Emergency now serving patients
Brighton Park Emergency, Trident Health's new freestanding ER, is now open for patients.
Summerville, SC (August 24, 2020) - Brighton Park Emergency, a new freestanding ER with Trident Health, is now open and serving patients. The 10,800 square foot emergency room is located by the Nexton entrance off exit 199 on I-26 at 1626 N. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483.
Brighton Park Emergency is a full-service ER complete with 11 patient rooms, imaging and lab services, as well as telemedicine services for stroke and behavioral health. It will be open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, offering around-the-clock radiology services and will be staffed by a team of board-certified emergency physicians, as well as specially trained nurses and staff, equipped to treat both adults and children.
Neal Shelley, MD and Brighton Park Emergency's Emergency Services Medical Director, said, "When people experience a medical emergency, they want care that is accessible and provided by experienced physicians. In 2019 more than 176,000 patients received emergency care at a Trident Health ER. Last year more emergency care was provided at a Trident Health ER and more pediatric emergency care was provided at Summerville Medical Center than at any other healthcare provider in the Lowcountry.

Summerville Medical Center's ER expansion will increase the number of beds for patients, expand the pediatric ER, add 13,000+ new square feet and more. Summerville Medical Center Emergency Room Medical Director Preston Wendell, MD took a few moments to talk more about the 24/7 care our ER physicians and team will continue to provide during construction that started this week. Summerville Medical Center's ER and pediatric ER will be open throughout the construction.
