James Island Emergency

James Island Emergency is a 24/7 freestanding emergency room (ER) located at 945 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. This full-service ER offers easy-to-access, quality care for your emergency care needs.

Our location is not an urgent care center. We are open 27/7/365 and are staff by board-certified emergency medicine doctors. Just like a hospital-based ER, we accept walk-in patients and patients who arrive by ambulance.

Our nearly 13,000 square foot facility features 11 private patient care rooms. At James Island Emergency, our onsite emergency medicine physicians take a holistic approach to care, pulling from a range of medical specialties for patient care, as needed.

Emergency services we offer

Just like hospital ERs, we have the advanced technology, radiology and medical specialists to handle a range of minor to acute illnesses and injuries. When patients need more specialized care, we efficiently transfer them to the nearest hospital, pediatric emergency care, or intensive are unite. Our services include:

• Onsite diagnostic imaging and laboratory services
• Access to multiple medical specialties including neurological care, heart care, general surgery and others as needed
• Affiliations with our other Trident Health hospital, Summerville Medical Center, for efficient admissions to hospital care
